It was a great weekend for local athletes in track and field provincials.
Two records were broken by students from the Quad Counties.
Sara Scott of Bayview Education Centre broke the provincial record in junior girls discus with a throw of 30.10 metres.
Siona Chisholm of Dr John Hugh Gillis Regional High School was able to beat the record in the intermediate girls 1500 metre.
Chisholm also got a gold in the 800 metre, 3000 metre.
She also captured gold with teammates Malia Artibello, Mairin Canning and Emma Cameron in the 4 x400 metre relay.
Artibello picked up a silver in the 800 metre event.
Lauren Lowther finished her high school career with a strong 2nd place finish in the senior girls 1500m event.
Mairin Canning picked up a pair of silver medals to go along with her 4 x4 gold.
Annie Maltby and Ryan Hayes got on the podium for TEC.
Hayes had a throw of 35.40 metres in junior boys javelin for a gold medal.
Maltby threw 30.50 metres in junior girls javelin for a silver.
Adam Rose of SAERC won gold in intermediate boys shot put.
Dalbrae also had three athletes make the top three.
Jayden Muise got 2nd in shot put, Amber MacDonald ran to 3rd in the 400 metre and Sarah Wilson had a 3rd in the javelin.
Lucas Marshall of East Richmond Education Centre won gold in the junior boys high jump.
Diego Marshall of Richmond Academy won gold in the intermediate boys high jump.
