A local liberal MP is running again in the upcoming federal election.
MP Sean Fraser is the Liberal candidate running for the Central Nova seat in October’s federal election.
Fraser tells The Hawk a number of things happened in his first term.
“The highway twinning between Pictou Co. and Antigonish, we’ve got the remediation of Boat Harbour, we’ve got the new projects at StFX and the community college in Pictou Co.,” he says. “Small craft harbours that have been built all over the riding.”
Fraser says the one of those stands out to him.
“Having achieved the twinning of Highway 104 is a marquee accomplishment for our government in our community,” he says. “It was near the top of the priority list for everyone back home during the last campaign, and to be able to point to such tangible and important project for our community is something I’m very proud of.”
He says he’s looking forward to talking with constituents, and hearing from his opponents.
“I know them both, I think they’re great people, that’s one thing about small town politics,” he says. “The vitriol that you see sometimes on TV or during question period evaporates when you’re dealing with friends and neighbours.
He says he’s looking forward to healthy public debates with the other candidates.
