The Mooseheads (19-31-4), who snapped a nine-game losing streak, are ninth in the 10-team Eastern Conference with 42 points, nine points behind Quebec for eighth, and 13 points ahead of last-place Acadie-Bathurst.
It was the first game in the two-game season series between the teams, who meet again in Rimouski Feb. 28.
