I’m sure this will be welcomed news to many.
The Nova Scotia Health Authority has announced that they have eased some visitor restrictions.
-Patients receiving medical assistance in dying
-Children admitted to hospital
-Labour and birth
-Patients who need assistance, including but not limited to cancer care, some emergency, outpatient or critical care situations, discharge planning (a healthy person to pick up discharged patients)
-Patients with significant cognitive or physical disabilities who need an essential support person in order to receive care
Those support people must be feeling well. If you are waiting on COVID-19 test results or have any of the expanded symptoms that are signs of COVID-19, you will not be permitted to visit.
In addition, the Inverary Manor in Inverness has announced Resident & Family Court Yard Visits.
People are still not allowed inside the Long Term Care Facility but can now take advantage of the warmer weather and set up an in-person visit with a loved one.
Court Yard visits will be available everyday in the afternoon. You are asked to set it up with staff in advance and there will be a 2 person limit. Social Distancing measures still apply.
