That figure smashes her previous indoor record of 18.00 metres and it also broke the previous Canadian record which was held by Brittney Crew with a distance of 18.81 metres.
Crew also holds the women’s outdoor record which is currently 19.28 metres.
The record adds to the growing list of accomplishments for Mitton who attended her first Olympics last year in Tokyo.
